Our 4WD tours take in the most spectacular scenery of the Flinders Ranges, and showcase the wildlife, flora, geology, Aboriginal and European histories of the region.

All tours are conducted by experienced local guides in modern 4WD vehicles. We offer a range of full and half day experiences, from wildlife and geology to wine and sunsets, so why not join one of our guides for the highlight of your Flinders adventure.

Tour 1 - Discover An Ancient Land

This comprehensive tour takes you to the heart of the Flinders Ranges National Park - Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges. During the day you’ll see creek beds lined with majestic river red gums, ancient landscapes, some of the world’s oldest fossils and local wildlife, and hopefully you will catch a glimpse of the rare yellow-footed rock-wallaby. For lunch you stop in the old copper mining town of Blinman, and in the afternoon you will have the option to go on the Blinman Heritage mine tour which shows how the Cornish miners worked in this area (mine opening times permitting). The last stop of the day is at Stokes Hill lookout, where you get fantastic 360° views of the Flinders Ranges. Morning tea included.

Tour 2 - Central Flinders Explorer

If you have only one day to see the Flinders Ranges then this is the tour for you. Explore the Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges. Overlook and then drive across the Parachilna plain for a gourmet lunch at the Prairie Hotel, famous for its Feral Food. After lunch the tour heads into Parachilna Gorge, and onto the  heritage town of Blinman. Return to Rawnsley Park via‘Great Wall of China’, Oraparinna and Hucks Lookout. Morning tea included.

Tour 3 - Echoes from the Past

The Flinders Ranges have a rich heritage of Aboriginal, Pastoral and Mining history.  We travel to the Wilpena Pound Visitor Centre and then take an easy 2 hour walk to the Hill Homestead and Wangara Lookout.  Explore the heritage settlement at Wilpena Station and then lunch in the grounds of Wilpena Resort. After lunch we visit Stokes Hill Lookout, Appealinna Ruins and return via the old Stage Coach Road from Blinman.

Tour 4 - Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges

This tour is a condensed version for Tour 1, Discover and Ancient Land. You visit the Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges in the heart of the National Park. Morning or afternoon tea is provided.

Half day Tour  Adult $150 Child $85
Tour 5 - Arkapena

The Arkapena tour gives you breath-taking scenery and an off-road 4WD experience. This half-day tour takes you around Rawnsley Park Station, past the Ulowdna Range and along the foothills of the Chace Range. You will drive among spear-grass plains and red-gum filled creeks and experience stunning views back towards the Chace Range and Wilpena Pound. The 360° views of the Flinders Ranges from the top of Prelinna Lookout – 680m above sea-level is a highlight of the tour. Morning or afternoon tea is provided.

Tour 6 - Station Run

Rawnsley Park Station is an operating sheep station covering 12000ha, which runs approximately 2000 sheep for wool and meat. This tour takes you around the station and you will learn about the pastoral history of the area and visit the bores that provide our stock with water all-year round. You also visit the ruins of Baldoura homestead via Wilpena Creek before returning to Rawnsley Park. Morning or afternoon tea provided.

Tour 7 - Sunset On The Chace

This 2-hour sunset tour first takes you across Rawnsley Park Station to the top of the Chace Range via old station and 4WD tracks. Once at the top, sip on local wine and nibble on canapés and experience amazing views of the sun going down over Wilpena Pound and the Flinders Ranges.

2 hour, evening Tour  Adult $95 (Not suitable for children)
