Safari-style in SA’s Outback

21 May 2020

With international travel off the cards for the foreseeable future, now is the perfect time to explore South Australia.  In fact, do a bit of research and you’ll start to discover that many of the experiences you’ve been searching for overseas can be found right here - in your own backyard.

If you’ve been dreaming of sundowners on the deck of your African safari lodge, how about swapping this for wine and canapes from the verandah of your luxury eco-villa at Rawnsley Park Station?  Watch a dramatic sunset over ancient Wilpena Pound as kangaroos hop by and native birdlife soars overhead, and marvel at the changing colours and dramatic landscape of this ancient land.

Inside your environmentally friendly eco-villa you’ll find a relaxed, contemporary space with all the comforts of home, including a deep bath perfect for soaking the day’s adventures away, a fully equipped kitchen and spacious living area.

For a touch of African-style adventure, take a 4WD Tour into the spectacular Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges where you can see rare endangered Yellow-footed rock wallaby, perhaps stopping at the famous Prairie Hotel at Parachilna for lunch or visiting the historic mining town of Blinman. Or take our famous late-afternoon Sunset on the Chace 4WD Tour, complete with canapes and a glass of sparkling as the sun sets over the Chace Range.

Afterwards, relax by the swimming pool with something cold before heading to our Woolshed Restaurant for drinks on the deck and dinner featuring Rawnsley Park’s own lamb.  Back in your eco-villa, don’t forget to draw back the retractable over-bed ceiling to reveal a star-filled Outback sky before climbing into bed.

African safari? No need - the ideal luxe adventure is just five hour’s drive from Adelaide.
