Temporary Closure - Areas of Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park - February & March

Areas of Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park (excluding Wilpena Pound Resort and campground, together with the additional areas listed below) will be closed for public safety for a pest control and monitoring as part of the Bounceback Program.
Dates of Closure
From: Sunday, February 8, 2026 (6am)
Until: Saturday, February 14, 2026 (9pm)
From: Tuesday, March 10, 2026 (9pm)
Until: Friday, March 14, 2026 (9pm)
In addition to the above closure dates, multiple walking trails within Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park will be closed every night until Saturday, October 31, 2026, for pest control operations.
Temporary closures
- Wilpena Pound and Arkaroo Rock, including all walking and access trails, will be closed from 6am to 1pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
- All other walking trails, internal roads and campgrounds will be closed for the full duration of the park closure.
Additional areas excluded from the temporary closure periods include:
- Hawker to Blinman Road
- Hawker to Arkaroola (Wirrealpa) Road
- Sacred Canyon Road
- Brachina Gorge Road (open for through traffic only – no stopping)
- Bunyeroo Gorge Road (open for through traffic only – no stopping)
- Wilpena Pound Resort and campground
