Flinders Ranges Highlights – when time is limited
The Flinders Ranges are the largest natural mountain range in South Australia, stretching for 430 km from Port Pirie to Lake Callabonna. The most significant landmark is Wilpena Pound or Ikara, a large oval shaped, natural amphitheatre.
We have created the following package so you can get the most out of your stay at Rawnsley Park Station, an award-winning tourism experience.
Enjoy two nights accommodation for two guests in a one-bedroom Eco Villa. With Advanced Ecotourism Accreditation, these villas are designed to complement the natural environment and be energy efficient. The villas are ideal for couples and are fully self-contained with spacious living and dining areas, private balconies to enjoy the views and separate bedrooms with over-bed skylights to watch the Milky Way as you drift off to sleep.
Your Eco Villa comes equipped with provisions for a daily continental breakfast. Let us know if you have any special dietary requirements and we can adjust accordingly.
Your stay includes the following tours:
A 30-minute scenic flight covering the must see: Rawnsley Bluff and Ikara / Wilpena Pound. Your pilot will ensure you have all the best angles for taking amazing photos and will provide a short commentary as you fly. To ensure you have a full day available for the tour (details below), we recommend scheduling the scenic flight for day of arrival or departure.
On your middle day at Rawnsley Station, we include a full day four-wheel drive tour exploring the highlights of the Flinders Ranges. You will depart your accommodation at 8.30am and travel through the Ranges stopping at Cazneaux tree, then onto Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges discovering the story of life on earth and hopefully spotting some yellow footed rock wallabies. Your driver and guide knows all the great places to stop for the best photos. Lunch is served at either the Prairie Hotel or Blinman Hotel (subject to seasonal availability), before we all return to Rawnsley Park via the Ikara/Flinders Ranges National Park.
